All WebV modules are developed to meet specific clinical or operational needs and to generate real and measurable improvements in organisational processes and patient experiences.

 WebV Solutions Ltd was formed in 2016 as the commercial arm of the Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust’s WebV Systems department (which meets the Trust’s own system and development needs).  The commercial arm was created in order to offer the Trust’s successful WebV Electronic Patient Record and Clinical Software system to other organisations. 


The WebV Suite has about 20 different modules, including bed management, electronic whiteboards, results reporting, blood tracking, clinical documentation and electronic discharge summaries.  The purpose of the solution is to provide live patient data directly at the fingertips of clinicians with the aim of providing greater efficiencies in clinical diagnosis and onward treatment.  Organisations in the health market have historically used many systems across multiple clinical disciplines that often didn’t talk to each other and the focus and goal of the WebV Solution is to bring together all these systems under one roof.

The Solution works by either providing new modules that fit a clinical requirement, replacing existing systems and/or by interfacing directly with other existing systems.  The solution is both scalable and operates on multiple platforms including mobile devices.  As the solution is designed in-house in conjunction with clinicians and medical staff, functionality relates directly to clinical processes and needs and therefore is an instant benefit not only to the clinical staff but ultimately to the patients we see.

Meet The Team

Alastair Brooks


Alastair Brooks is the managing director of WVS and is also the associate director of commercial services at NLaG. He has a track record for success in business and economic development as a strategic leader in the public sector, as well as operational and leadership expertise developed throughout a military career in the Royal Navy. 

Matthew Bovingdon


   Matthew Bovingdon is the Head of Operations & Product Manager for WVS and for the WebV Systems department of NLaG. He joined the NHS in 2004 and has a background in clinical support services, specifically pathology, and significant experience with managing and delivering projects within the NHS.  He is a Certified Product Owner, Scrum Master and Scrum Developer well suited in directing a software product in an ever changing NHS.

Daniel McGowan


 Daniel McGowan is the development manager for WVS and for the WebV Systems department of NLaG. He has a background in NHS pathology, specifically biomedical science, and has been lead developer on the WebV system from the start of the product.

Viv Duncanson


Viv Duncanson is the WVS and WebV Systems nursing lead. She has 40 years of nursing experience and has previously served as assistant director of infection prevention and control for Northern Lincolnshire & Goole NHS Foundation Trust. She was part of the team that won the inaugural national infection control team of the year award in 2003 and has also spent time in the Department of Health where she helped draft pandemic influenza infection control guidelines on behalf of the team at Public Health England. She was also awarded the National Infection Prevention Control Nurse of the year award in 2014.

Dr Steve Griffin


Steven Griffin is the WVS clinical lead and also sits on the Board as the Medical Director. He has over 25 years of experience as a cardiothoracic surgeon in the UK and abroad and was previously Deputy Medical Director at the American Hospital in Dubai. He is currently Associate Medical Director, Digital and Informatics, at NLaG where he leads on the Trust’s digital strategy and its aim of being paperless by 2022.  

Tim Hughes


Tim Hughes is the Business Development and Contracts Officer for WVS, working across the full scope of Customer Relationship Management, Marketing and Sales Engagement cycles. He has a background in finance and procurement systems management, system and process design and development along with commercial pre-sales of software solutions. He brings a wealth of knowledge to the team, having served 14 years within the NHS and a further 19 years in the commercial and industrial arenas.
